This is wonderful,
This is mysterious
We struggle to comprehend it
When Jesus reaches down to rapture us to be eternally with Himself
We’re not going to die-but we are all going to be changed.
As fast as our eye twinkles & it’s done
A trumpet blast from heaven,
Those who died will have their bodies reunited with their souls,
In that moment we’ll all be changed. In the resurrection scheme of things,
Everything corruptible perishable aspect of our physical being
Will be transformed & replaced by an incorruptible imperishable body,
Our mortality will be exchanged & replaced by the immortal.
Death is swallowed up by triumphant Life!
Death? Oh, Death, who’s afraid of you now?
Your sting has evaporated
Yes, sin caused death to be terrifying
Yes, the inflexible law exploited us to sin & gave sin its leverage & its destructive power.
But now life, new life, real life transforms us to completely fulfilled victorious Life,
All guilt is removed,
All death is gone,
Jesus Christ Is our conquering triumphant life
1 Corinthians 15:51-57 Paraphrased
As Henry Scott Holland so beautifully noted
