Be imatators

What Kind of Person Do we Imitate?

Are we inhaled in holy mimicry?

Who are we hanging out with?

Who are we allowing to have an influence on us?

So what qualities should we look for in people to mimic?

Imitate those who do good works

Imitate those who teach with integrity,

Imitate those love with dignity

Imitate those who communicate in sound speech

1 Tim. 4:12

Imitate & follow what we are taught in Scripture

Imitate those who receive the gospel with joy,

Imitate those who live for Jesus

even in the face of suffering

Those we imitate are not perfect;

Those we imitate are still being transformed.

Not that we have already obtained this

or are we already perfect,

but we press on to make it our own,

because Christ Jesus has made us his own

Phil. 3:12–15

People worthy of imitation are humble.

They acknowledge they have more to learn.

Imitate Jesus through Them

In truth, we should imitate others

only insofar as they imitate Christ.

Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ

Ultimately, then, we must look up to Christ through them.

Paul exhorted the Philippians

to have the same humility as Christ
